'64 Vox AC30 Treble(amazing)'67 Super Reverb and a bunch of Clapton strats and a Dano baritone...'65 Pro Reverb and and a another '67 Super...sorry for the double post...learning curve on fitting pix onto the same page!! Missing from the pix are '67 Champ,'66 Ampeg Reverberocket II and Gemini VI,70's Musicmaster Bass Amp,'66 Princeton Reverb, another Musicman 115-65, and a couple Peaveys....
I know I keep saying we have to get together but still rehabbing. You have some nice gear and we must be related somewhere along the line as we have the same taste in guitars and amps. Always wanted a Music Man but for some reason that amp has been elusive for me. At this point, I am swamped with amps so I can't justify fattening the heard. (The opposite of thinng the heard??? )
Chris, email me your Ph # and I'll put it in my cell phone. It must be nice in Charlestown as it was a beautiful day here on the Southcoast.
Brothers from different mothers Len! There are a couple dozen other guitars in the pack too.. 401-316-7915 cell.. I'm out until next week and then a busy run with family flying in to R.I... looks like Sept will work better to meet up..looking forward!
Rickenbacker B16 Supersonic..pretty much like a Super Reverb without reverb...this one is probably 65 or so..in process of a cap job and bias reset..very nice amp, 4x10's. I had one around 66 or so, loved it...Very rare, near impossible to find in any condition. It took me over a year to find one when I started looking then another 6 months to make the deal.
I should finish it..I've had it about 6 months and it's just waiting on me ! I have 4 new Emmi/ P10 R clones to put in it...
It is said that Fender did some chassis work on these and some repairs, the chassis and circuit bd looks pretty much like a Fender amp so it's probably true. Pretty much the same components...
yeh it sings pretty good !
Emmons L-II , Fender Telecasters, B-Benders , Eastman Mandolin ,
Pro Tools 12 on WIN 7 !
jobless- but not homeless- now retired 9 years
We'll catch up at some point in the near future. Having a hip replacement late September so my doctor says I'll have to play guitars with humbucking pickups.....
Harp players would die for some these small amps. Off topic a bit, but there is a fellow who takes old Bogen and Bell PA tube amps (20-30)watts and services
them and puts speaker jacks in them as they usually had screw terminals for speaker wire. Some of these amps had strange tubes so I am NOT sure of availability?
Here's a Fender oddity. 1952 Pro Amp. And no, the tweed hasn't been pulled off. That's the original factory finish. Roxatone paint. Very durable. Popular in the Fifties. I've located 4 of these amps so far, all 52s. My Pro, a Twin, and two Supers. Fellow who worked at Fender back then recalled that they were ordered by a music store in Indiana. Luggage-style handle is correct too. Now if I could just find the right grillcloth and speaker,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Anybody got a '52, 15" Jensen or JBL? Amp sounds terrific. Don't fret about the caps, my tech put new ones inside the old ones. So it looks original. It came to me with two Mullard EL-37s. Great tubes! There's more to the story, but I won't bore youse with any more details.
Here are a couple of piles of the smaller ones.... I have used all of these with pedal or non pedal steel at some point. I especially love the little Valco on the bottom center of the first group. The PANaramic sports a pair of 8" speakers and has the Magnatone style vibrato. The Blackface Deluxe Reverb is a 1964. The beat to hell Tweed Deluxe is an oddball '56 with '57 guts that came that way from the factory.
In the lower group, there two eras of GA-6, the one on the left with the missing G is a '58 and the mint one in the middle of the center stack is a '60. Slightly different, but very similar to 5D3/5E3 Tweed Deluxes. The Gibson below that is another oddball, a Maestro GA 45 RV with a factory 15" speaker instead of the usual 4X8 configuration.
Regarding his '52 Fender Pro, John Billings wrote:

John, I have a 53' Pro. As I understand it, all Pro amps from the early years had field-coil speakers. Mine did, although it was blown and I had to replace it with a standard one. I still have the blown original speaker.
Are you looking for a field-coil or regular speaker?
Mike was trying to remember his conversion when we talked. He said it was so long ago that he built those it was a little foggy on certain components. No problem I had already built a Carmen Ghia so I built this instead.
Yup. It was years ago! I had a friend who repaired Hammonds, and I was able to get Mike a bunch of reverb amps. Then they ran out, and he started getting chassis built. The first Ghias were really small. I needed mo power, so I got a Prescription.
