My thoughts on Profiles of amps. I own the amp I made a Kemper Profile for. It is a dead on match to the sound I get with my amp. I use my amp head in the studio or on gigs where I am only playing Pedal Steel. I get the most mileage out of the Kemper because (live), I can play Steel, Elec Gtr, Acoustic Gtr, & Dobro all from one rig. No more dragging a heavy tube head, three pedal boards, etc, etc to every gig. It all comes from the Kemper now. It is an absolutely incredible, highly functional unit.

I own the amp and I own the Kemper and I am using them both as the situation dictates.

From the perspective of running sound, I have seen about 50/50% running live rigs versus modeling rigs…. Neither sounds “better”. It all depends on the level of professionalism from the player. YMMV
