Speakers (today's) to recreate the old Peavey ProFEX->DPC-> 2x 12inch setup ?
I am looking to re-create my old Peavey ProFEX into Rack Amp into two two 12" speakers.
Evidently, we're a quarter Century later. I have to source the 12' speakers (I BELIEVE they were 4Oh,m each?) and cabs for this setup.
Most speaker boxes (ready built) seem to be offered either as "SubWoofer" or "PA speakers"... am I right to assume that's NOT what I am looking for?
Most higher Wattage speakers seem to be SubWoofer" or "Audio" (the later pitched to loud car sound systems)... what can be used?
I am NOT electronically versed... so, all input is appreciated.
Thanks!... J-D.

Those who produce Tablature did never use it.
I say it humorously, but I mean it.

You need to specify "guitar amplifier cabinet", as the PA stuff is usually bulkier and sometimes more cheaply made. Guitar amp cabs are readily available, but pricey! Excpect to pay $200-$450 for a 2x12 cabinet. They're available on Amazon and Ebay, but you should also check Craigslist, pawnshops, and nearby music stores for a non-working ("for parts only") amplifier - you might get lucky. As far as speakers go for pedal steel, you want to look for speakers designed for music instruments, preferably guitar or organ, and something 100-watt range should be fine. Get whatever impedance the amp calls for, and look for a speaker designed for pedal steel if that will be your primary use. (Tons of speakers are also sold right here on the forum.)
p.s. Those giant multi-hundred watt speakers made for boomy car systems are very inefficient and bass-engineered, they're not suited for anything near an even response or the high frequencies of guitar and steel.

I bought a pair of Eminence Delta Pro 2. They are about half the price of the Travis Troy Signature speakers, and I must say, I was kind'a questioning if they even would have the sound I would want from the youtube video TT posted, where the sound VERY nasal. That MAY be attractive to some E9th players... I like it rather "Bigsby T8-Big D-Texas Dance Hall BIG".
I bought a pair of 12" woofers IN a ported cabinet... it was the cheapest way to get two compact cabs with everything -even a bace grill- on them... I'll just yank out bass woofer speakers and throw the Eminence in'em and declare "dunne!".
If that's not good, I'll build cabs myself. The pair of Peavey 112's I had back in the 1990's (in style of what Jeff Newman suggested with the ProFEX II) were also just small plywood cabs... no big voodoo.
