D'you reckon that "Piper Cub" of his will make it on one tank of gas? I heard about his last trip overseas. He got, slightly, over half-way there,& didn't think he could make it,so he turned around & came all the way back!!
Besides,I don't think he can wind that rubber band up that tight!

Hey, Smiley,
Bobbes' Rubber Band Never WAS that tight to begin with...Ha. (Meter Problems)
I always figured that they were a "Garage" Band at that. Someone told me that the name of the band was "Bobbes' Trogan Horses"
Hard to keep them "Rubbers" tuned to pitch too.....
Happy "Dead Reckoning", Dr.Bobbe

hEY HE SHOULD TRADE THAT PIPER IN FOR ONE WITH BETTER FUEL MILAGE. ha Bobbe take your life raft with you and you can Swan dive to the water.HEHE OK all jokes aside try to hook up a spare fuel tank . You put a tank the size of the one you have in the plane and put a shut off on it and open it when you get down kind ogf low on the first tank.Just a suggestion from a former Yank

Sounds interesting......like the "Flying Tigers Airline" charter flight I was riding when the starboard engine started belching smoke just after passing the "point of no return" over the Pacific!

OK guys, just how long do you think I can be quiet here? As some of you know, I did fly my Bonanza to Dublin two and a half years ago, no big deal, the longest period over water is only 500 miles. With GPS and Loran in this day and time, it's not exactly Lindburg news to do this anymore. However, I'll be taking "FBN" airways, (Fly By Night) this time.
Am I looking forward to going? What do you think! Yes, I'm even practicing and sending charts in advance and looking for a dog sitter. The store? Who knows, I have a good crew now, they will do a good job, I'm sure. They do everything now anyway, better than me! Vic Lawson, Dan Bently, Larry Dever, Boo Miller, and Tige (the wonder dog).
Am I looking for a new wife over there? Why not! I've already been married to everybody over here! Besides, I like redheads.(hope they can understand my accent!)
I plan to spend as much time as I can with every player that shows up. This will be a great exchange of ideas, culture and I'll be able to share many years of steel guitar with as many folks as possible. I don't plan to sleep. Who knows, I'm might make both countries happy and just stay over there!
Doug Jernigan was there last year and has some wonderful things to say about the way he was treated and how he loved the players, music and country.
Look out Anne Marie, tell John to tune up, I'll be there with a smile, and you are singing with me, at least a couple!
No Smiley, the Piper Cub stays in the hangar, but you can use it to spread happiness and good cheer.
Looking forward,

OK Smiley!!!.....I got you.....but not game to jump in.....and for you Joe...not that I want to pull Rank as you are a friend...but just for interest.....my Ancestory goes back to Admiral Hawke....I think First Lord Of The Admirality.....some time in the late 1600's in Britain..not sure but got to check the dates........but I think a few of his children were suspect...so I may be one of those that Smiley keeps on calling me !!!!!!

I can't compete with the humor in this post, Ret Cop, I think you deserve some kind of "humor award" though.
I'm really getting anxious now. I wonder what she'll look like ?
Doug Jernigan just left here and said the band was incredible. He left me some big shoes to fill, what a guy , what a player!
I hope I'll have as much fun as he did, this is supposed to be an incredible steel show.
Thank you all my friends abroad,

Sorry Bobbe, had front row seats booked for your show, but was offered 3 times what I paid for them by some Irish lasses that heard you'de be performing in Kilts!
Dont think I would have wanted to sit that close if that's the case! If they video the show I can hook you up with the guy that produces "Girls gone Wild" maybe call it
"Bobbe's gone Nuts"
( have a safe trip pal )

I'm sure Bobbe will do fine! He always does. He recently performed at our 1st Steel Guitar Showcase, in Columbia City, IN. I have heard nothing but positive remarks about his performance. Bobbe's great playing and presentation, along with the puclic's response to this event has made us decide to make this an annual event. The folks in Ireland are in for a real treat!

Wow, thanks guys, Tommy M., You are the King!
I think that Kilts are Scottish, not Irish. But if your interested, I'll play Scotland next year, ( no kilts though)
This should be fun, I wish all you guys could go, I'm expecting to meet some wonderful folks, probably some distant relatives, and some really great players!

Bobbe, they're all in for a real treat! Hope your trip goes well and that you have a fantastic time to boot! Be sure to play some of that thumb style stuff that you and Dad played for so long. That'll set them on the edge of their seats for sure. Best of luck my friend and God Bless you all the way there and back home again!
