There may (or may not) be a penciled-in date on the body underneath one (or both) of the tuner pans.

Comparing it to another I have seen on the forum, I would put a general date of mid '60s.

1966 is reasonable to me. It has patent numbers under the front decal spaghetti logo.

Thanks for your help, that’s interesting 1966 the year I was born! They are asking £1200 Sterling, is that reasonable as it has no case and is in fair condition but they say it’s all original as far as they know….. cheers

Neck selector switch is not original.
I have no problem with the switch but I would have a problem with someone trying to tell me it is original. That means they are pretending to be experts about something they know little about or that they are dishonest.

That's fair enough. Very common in the general guitar marketplace.
If you google it you can see examples of the proper switch. Similar to a Telecaster with a stamped flat steel stem and a plastic top hat. I'm a player, not a collector, so function matters far more than originality.

Price is right around what you generally see but the switch could give you some bargaining leverage.

It's hacked up... that Gibson switch is not good, that plate's been ruined. It's before 1965, that's a nitro finish. No case, take away 250$. Ruined plate, take away 100$. Tele switches are easy to get, no reason for it to be hacked in that way. That guitar is about 1000$ worth here in USA.
Too much junk to list... always getting more.

I used to date a blonde dual professional. But I didn’t brag about it.
Mostly Pre-1970 guitars.
