Anyone use a buffer or Matchbox on non-pedal??
Hey.....
I mostly play a nice 53 Fender Dual 8 Pro for non-pedal gigs, and practicing tonight, I used my pedal steel cable that had a Matchbox 7A in line, which I didn't notice. What I DID notice was my signal was clearer and fatter, and the "boo-wah" on the tone pot worked better than usual. Once I saw that the Matchbox was in line, I realized what caused the difference. I use a regular EBjr pot pedal, and I guess that buffer really helped. I never thought to try it, because I thought it might make my Fender sound too "modern" and more like a PSG......but not at all. It just sounded BETTER. I'm sold.
Anyone else using anything similar in their non-pedal/lap setup?

Strangely, I found that when using my Matchbox with my Dual Pro, the Boo-wah effect disappeared completely. I use a volume/tone pedal rather than the tone control though. Maybe I should try plugging the Matchbox in after the foot pedal?Jim Fogarty wrote:Hey.....
