Leon "Wahoo" Sutton
I was just notified via Facebook that Leon "Wahoo" Sutton died unexpectedly on January 16 in Winter Haven, Florida. He was 90 years old. He replaced Odell Martin as lead guitarist in Faron Young's Country Deputies band in 1964 and stayed with him for three years. I was thrilled when Leon and his family came from Florida to my book release party in 2007 in Nashville. And all the Deputies were thrilled to see him, too.
