Tim Harr's Kemper Profiles - Updated with Matchbro Profile

Post by Tim Harr »

I use my Kemper Profiler for pedal steel, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and Dobro. Sometimes with and sometimes without any cab on stage (when on IEM).

If anyone is interested in my profiles, I will be glad to share. Send me your email in this thread.

Hey Tim, yes, please email me at proaudio529@mac.com - do you have the actual LW '89 amp and, if so, how convincing is the Kemper?

Thanks again,
Chris

Yes. I own the LW 89 PF. 100 W head and PF 350 12" cab.

Very convincing. Pretty incredible, actually. I'll send the performances. Just drag and drop them into your KPA Rig Manager.

Hi Tim,

I'd also love to try your performances, as I've tried several and while they all work, they just don't quite "do it" for me.

Thank in advance!

FYI, I have a Kemper Profiler Head and matching Powered Kemper Kabinet for sale in the classifieds for a great deal if you know anyone looking. I ended up getting the Powered Head and Passive Kabinet because it's one less power cable. I'm honestly floored at how great this thing sounds!

Thanks for the profiles! Has anyone tried the Eminence IRs for the Paul Franklin and Travis Toy speakers?

Best,
Chris

I’m looking for a power head unit only. I already have a quilter cabinet with the PF350 speaker I’m going to use with it

Hey Tim, or anybody else Tim has shared them with...

I'm just getting started on PSG and use my Kemper for Bass and a little guitar. I'd love to checkout some of your PSG profiles if you don't mind sharing and would be more than willing to swap some over to you from my collection. I have quite the selection for bass related stuff (over 30k profiles) of just about every preamp/DI/amplifier I could think of.

Any feedback on the Performances I have sent to number of you? I am just curious. They really work well for me on both the stage and in my home studio.

Hi Tim – Thanks for sending the performances. So far I’ve been stuck on the Pedal Steel performance and haven’t moved on to the other two yet. I’ve especially liked the #2 rig in that performance. Did a little tweaking to add a different compressor for additional sustain and put in a Micro Pitch chorus on it. I haven’t tried recording with it yet but that will come.

At first I thought the Dirty Lap Steel was a bit too gritty for my taste, but its grown on me.

Should mention that so far I’ve been using it with my humbucker lap steel. Will move on to trying it soon on my pedal steel. Problem with the Kemper is that when I find a rig I like, it takes a while before I move along to another. I’ll try out the Clean Tele and Overdrive Guitar performance in the near future.

Hey Tim, the Performance profiles sound great to my ear! Out of curiosity, have you tried making a "liquid" profile of your LW?

Anyone know where I can find profiles for Milkman?

Thanks!

I don't own a Kemper, my buddy made a profile of my pedal steel mini with JBL k-120 about 100 years ago. I can't vouch for it, but here you go:

So I have some profiles of the Mesa boogie studio preamp. I bought them a couple years ago. These are professional profiles of this preamp.

Tim, if this is still going, I would love to try your profiles. I am at guy.cundell@gmail.com and would be happy to provide feedback. I am using a bunch of different things for lap steel but haven't settled on a favourite for PSG.
