Preamp with Steel Dream

Post by John Farrell »

I run direct and have been using either a PodXT or a Helix. Just got a Benado Steel Dream and wondering what would be a good preamp to use?

I use my Steel Dream into a TC Furlong Sesh 400 preamp ! ... then out to a Jay Ganz Power amp mounted in the bottom of a 15" Telonics cabinet.

Sorry John, the other way around !! :-} Although I have it plugged up to put the Nutradrive before the volume pedal, and everything else after the preamp, as per the Steeldream manual.

Revelation Tube Preamp is also good choice.
Another good pedal pramp is the MXR M80.

Thanks, Dennis! I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the TC Furlong Sesh 400.

Looking forward to toying around.

John, you will not be disappointed with the Sesh 400 preamp. Recommended if you are using an amp with an effects loop, go from the Sesh output to the return
In the loop.

Thanks Len. I generally run direct and don't use an amp whenever that's possible. If I do use an amp, it'll be a Nashville 400 or a Webb 6-14E. Thanks for the validation on the Sesh 400 choice!

Hey Paddy...can you share your setting for the preamp?
