Quiter 101 Reverb - high pitch squealing feedback?

Post by Dave Falk »

Hello, I picked up a Quiter 101 Reverb off of 'Reverb' to use with my Blockdock12HD to my PSG.

But now whenever I try to use Gain and Reverb controls on the Quilter 101 reverb I get nothing but high pitch squeal/feedback.
the limiter and tone controls are all at 12:00. But if I push the gain up to 10:00 with the reverb at 10:00 I get feedback.

Any help or suggestions would be super.

Dave

Do you have the speaker plugged into the correct speaker jack on the 101? 4ohm/8ohm jacks.

It was my understanding that I could use either one 4 or 8 ohm?

I plugged an 8 ohm speaker in the 4 ohm jack and got a screeching sound when I got the volume up. An 8 ohm speaker has to be plugged into the 8 ohm speaker output. I don't know if this is your case? There is a troubleshooting guide that helps you isolate the problem. It's on line or in the manual. If you're placing any effects before the input of the 101, it may cause the problem also. Make sure you are using a good quality effects pedal 9v transformer, like the OneSpot. Some of the cheaper generic ones will cause a constant high pitch noise.
