Issues with peavy nashville 400

Post by Grayson Flynt »

I recently picked up a nashville 400 this weekend. So my problem is that i will randomly play and while im the middle of playing a ground hum occurs and wont stop until i flip the ground switch. Then it will just happen again randomly in the middle of playing. So, my questions are

1. Is this a common issue?

2. Is it a easy fix?

It's possible the reverb tank pins are oxidized. Remove connection and clean with alcohol and make sure they are tight. I use a little copper bristle brush and alcohol. Hope that helps. There is other possible issues but this would be my first thing to do.

In general, if it's got silver strips, it needs DeOxit in the molexes and loop return normal contacts. I re-tense every Molex socket and the reverb RCA's. Got my N400 for 150$ (nice Tuki cover) because it wouldn't play right until I jumpered the loop.
Too much junk to list... always getting more.
